At FRISA, we employ robust mechanisms to identify, update, and maintain compliance with all legal and other relevant requirements for our organization and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to all commitments we have made.

Atmosphere

We adhere to Mexico's environmental regulations concerning air quality, with our emissions being regulated by SEMARNAT under the LGEEPA guidelines for atmospheric prevention and control. Additionally, we proactively implement strategies to minimize the release of airborne particles into the environment through our comprehensive atmospheric contingency response program at the state level.

We strictly comply with established maximum allowable limits for:

  • Particulate matter PM10 and PM2.5, as specified in NOM-025-SSA1-2021 and NOM-035-SEMARNAT-1993.
  • Particulate matter emissions from stationary sources, in accordance with NOM-043-SEMARNAT-1993.

Water and Discharges

We strive to exceed standard regulatory requirements; ensuring that our practices net only are environmentally sustainable, but also actively contribute to the conservation of water resources. We conduct rigorous quality assessments of our discharges using laboratories accredited by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA), to ensure compliance with NOM-001-SEMARNAT-1996 or NOM-001 SEMARNAT-2021 standards for discharges into national waters, and NOM-002-SEMARNAT-1996 for discharges to sewer systems.

Waste

We recognize the environmental impact of waste from our operations and are committed to enhancing resource efficiency to minimize waste production.

To manage our waste responsibly, we meticulously document its generation at our facilities and hold all necessary permits for handling both hazardous and non-hazardous waste, as well as for recycling specialized materials. We ensure our waste management partners adhere strictly to all legal standards. Furthermore, we are continually exploring ways to refine our waste disposal methods, in line with sustainable and circular economy principles.

Noise

We adhere to noise regulations by conducting regular assessments and enhancing our equipment and processes. Our initiatives to mitigate noise include the adoption of quieter technologies and acoustic insulation, ensuring that we meet environmental standards such as NOM-081-SEMARNAT-1994.

Environmental Impact and Risk

At FRISA, we are dedicated to safeguarding the environment throughout every phase of our expansion projects. We ensure compliance with all requisite state and federal permits before commencing any construction activities. This includes adhering to laws designed to protect natural environments and mitigate environmental risks. Additionally, we secure the necessary authorizations for projects impacting forested areas. At the state level, we abide by all environmental regulations of the State of Nuevo León and carry out thorough risk assessments to manage potential environmental impacts. In municipal contexts, we also make certain to secure all required licenses to construct our facilities in alignment with local regulations.
