FORGED STEP SHAFTS

Enhanced performance and precision

shafts

Top-notch mechanics

This product comes with high-mechanical expectations. Our open-die forging process allows us to direct grain flow throughout the product’s geometry to improve its qualities and performance. Our forging capabilities provide significative cost and material savings compared to machined-bar step shafts.

BENEFITS

  • Our shaft open-die forging process is key to achieve the required high-mechanical properties while maintaining cost and material savings.

  • At FRISA, we can supply step shafts in rough forging conditions—roughly or fully machined to meet your specifications, including our value-added services.

VALUE-ADDED SERVICES

PROCESS

The open-die forging process involves free deformation of the material through the use of flat-faced dies. This enables us to direct the grain flow throughout the product’s geometry.

The technique begins with an ingot cut that is forged to the largest outside diameter of the step flange.

Then, the next step section is marked with a forging tool and worked to decrease the outside diameter to its desired size.

The step-down process can be repeated as many times as needed.

FRISA is proud to be ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 certified. Our focus on quality and customer approach allow us to produce forgings that will meet your requirements and exceed your expectations.
